Wow. That is honestly one amazing chip. I wonder if they're gonna get some good use for it Thanks for the video!

I agree, it looks cool. When I read on the net it was just a "processing chip" I was dissapointed, thinking oh great. How spectacular *insert sarcasm*

But after seeing the vids on the zii site, it looks interesting. How long do you think till this (if ever) is integrated into out lives. cause I think that it would be awesome to have on my laptop

Though i am a bit concerned about power consumption with this. I asked them at the Creative booth about this and they said it consumes 1w at max- which to me seems like a lot. The NVIDIA Tegra by comparison (though not similarly comparable) consumes 350mw for 720p h.264 playback- according to an NVIDIA rep. We should see some Tegra devices (I have a hunch its going to be Windows Moblie or Zune using this) ealy second half of the year. The rep said the are in the hands of the manufactures.

I pushed for info on players with Zii chips and i couldnt get them to even say for sure that they would come to Zen players, though its inevitable since there were reference players on display. So my best guess would be somewhere around the middle of the year we would see a Zen Zii based player. Though im not convinced Creative recollected itself- i still subscribe to the "Is creative slowely dying?" thread. Sighing the most notible not listening to customers.

1 watt seems pretty low considering the Creative reps mentioned 1 watt as being the max and not how much power during 720p/h.264 playback like the Nvidia reps. I believe Tegra's peak power envelop is between 2.5-4w max; much higher.
