Though i am a bit concerned about power consumption with this. I asked them at the Creative booth about this and they said it consumes 1w at max- which to me seems like a lot. The NVIDIA Tegra by comparison (though not similarly comparable) consumes 350mw for 720p h.264 playback- according to an NVIDIA rep. We should see some Tegra devices (I have a hunch its going to be Windows Moblie or Zune using this) ealy second half of the year. The rep said the are in the hands of the manufactures.
I pushed for info on players with Zii chips and i couldnt get them to even say for sure that they would come to Zen players, though its inevitable since there were reference players on display. So my best guess would be somewhere around the middle of the year we would see a Zen Zii based player. Though im not convinced Creative recollected itself- i still subscribe to the "Is creative slowely dying?" thread. Sighing the most notible not listening to customers. |
