I am new to MP3 players having just bought a Zen 4 GIG.
I have filled it up with mostly music from my CD collection, It was noticed recently whilst it was playing background it occasionally ended a track early and the next track would start whilst the display was still showing the previous track details. This is a new player and it had been on for a couple of hours. I first thought overheating ,, maybe not! has anyone got an answer please |

Welcome to ABI longshanks.
I would first boot the Zen into Recovery Mode (See the Zen FAQ under the Troubleshooting section) and select a Cleanup from the menu. If that doesn't help improve the situation, I would consider reloading the firmware or upgrading to the latest version, if you haven't already.

Your suggestions carried out,no difference.
to elaborate more, the zen is fully loaded and I have created a couple of play lists of which one has 126 tracks, I find that whilst in Shuffle mode some of these tracks run into one another without a pause, some quite a few seconds before the track has ended, very visable on the display but not soundwise. regards. |

Did you boot into Recovery Mode and select the Reload Firmware option, connect to the computer, and then execute the latest firmware application to install? This will give you a fresh installation of the latest firmware and prevent any existing problem from carrying over from just a regular firmware upgrade; as mentioned in the Zen FAQ.
