Well, my Vibez is still going strong. Anyone else?

It's a shame the HD's all fry out on these players because it still sounds great.

I love my D2, but the sound is slightly better on the Vibez.

Oh well, I ordered a HiFiMan and I hope it's all what it promises to be.

Mine's still in good shape, albeit with much less use than before.

Had mine for over 3 years. Was freakin married to that thing.
Then last month dropped it on the kitchen tile floor and that was the death kiss for the HD.

Bought a COWON D2 and still wish I had my Vibez.

Not long afer my last post, my vibez bit the dust. I don't even know how. Fortunately, I was able to pick up a new one (Seagate drive inside) direct from TrekStor (via Datastation in the US). Been sounding/working great since.

I've always wanted one, but they were never available to me locally. What type of HDD do these use? Could always be a CF mod if the planets align correctly.

Adub, the vibez uses a 1" micro-drive. I'm not sure a CF mod is actually doable on it (size & voltage). If that's something you want to take on, it would probably make more sense to pick up a used Rio Karma and mod that.

I guess you didn't bother to check how old this thread is? In our opinion the Trekstor Vibes is DOA.

obviously it's an old thread, this is an old player. that doesn't make it irrelevant.

- unique design and controller
- last player to use the (enhanced) Rio Karma OS/GUI
- one of the only players ever to use a 1" Cornice drive
- new units still available in Germany

The link to the supplier is buried by posting in in this necrothread. If you want folks to know that another source has been found you should start a new thread.

One of the problems with bumping old threads is that the involved parties have likely have moved on to other things. Another is that you are expecting the current members to read the whole thread to get up to speed on a old subject.

My rule of thumb is to click on the last posters name, go to their public profile and check their last activity. If they haven't been active in the last few weeks and I feel what I have to post is important I'll start a new thread. I can always create a link to the relevant previous thread if need be.

Trekstor is dead to most of us, as their support of the vibes - the player we all craved - is no longer anything they're concerned about. The vibes is DOA, this thread is DOA, and Trekstor sux.

If you're asking me, I got mine before TrekStor shutdown their US distribution office in Rockaway, New York. As far as I know there is no way to get one anymore in the US.

Not that I'm following the industry much anymore, but, IMO, the vibez is still one of the best pure audio handheld ever made.
