How many ohms to add?

Wow... I just got my d2 and the bass rolloff is awful. My music is mostly rap/rock and it sounds like shit, to be honest. I'm not usually concerned with SQ, so long as it's decent, but this is bad, very bad.

So I'm going to get the impedance adaptor off ebay... would this fix it? Also, how many ohms should I add? I use IEMs, creative EP630. Without an adaptor, I listen at sound level 5. Thanks.

Did you try playing with the equalizer and jeteffects? It might help. But if the D2 sounds like shit to you, than an impedance adapter will not help you at all. It's not like the bass rollof on the d2 makes the D2 have no bass at all. It is pretty slight rollof, nothing too noticeable. Maby try switching to some better iems?

Sounds like shit because your IEMs are shit. try 68ohm for an impedance adapter, but frankly you'd be better off investing in new IEMs (or both, youd still need the adapter)

Haha, I bought an elastic skin for it which prevented the plug from going in all the way. I pushed harder, got it in, and it's better now .


I was thinking, how could it be this bad? It was clipping off the bottom half of the song.

LOL, thats funny.

I just wanted to point out that the lowest frequecies of almost all musical instruments start well above the bass roll off regions of the D2 with 32ohm earphones. I figure these people complaining are probably hard core bass junkies who are'nt impressed with the natural low end of music, Or have fatigued ears that are'nt sensitive enough to interpret the low end well enough without an amp.
For me, There is no problems at all with Jazz, Classical and Movie Soundtracks; my primary music genres.
Seriously, how can you listening to the heavy bass of Danny Elfman's movie soundtrack to Mission Impossible and not feel overwhelmed? Could it be my ears are extra sensitive to low end?

No, some people really like to be 'overwhelmed' by the bass. It's those same people that have their cars audible from a mile away. I love a good punchy bass and definitely turn up the low end and bass boost and the D2 sounds great after some proper tampering. The CD production itself is very important as well. I have several sound presets because each CD I have requires different low end adjustment for me to be happy.

Nuff for what Sure 32 Ohms is fine for a portable, portables should drive ok a maximum impedance of upto 64 ohms.
