Default battery charging clip

I've seen many battery threads here but I still have a charging question. If I let the bat run down to almost nothing and then recharge using an ac to usb adaptor it takes around 4 hours to get back to 100%. If I use a pc usb cable it takes about 1 1/2 hours.

I think it might be that when I use the ac adaptor method it forces the clip to turn on to what I was doing last ie FM or play music. In fact it will turn on the FM with a very high volume setting. I do turn the vol down but still it seems odd that the unit is trying to charge while it is in play mode.

Is there a way for the clip to be in some sort of stand by mode like when it is connected via usb to pc? Thanks

I'll try the pause mode and see if the charge time is lessend. I suppose the best way for me is to buy a usb hub and just keep a clip dedicated cable just for charging. Seems a cleaner way to go. Thanks all

With my wall charger, and the battery reading 0%, and the radio on pause and turned down, it took about 2 hours for me.
