Hello all.
I'm at my wits end with this one, so I decided to join up and ask for some help. I have just become the proud owner of a J70J and I know it has all sorts of problems (lack of radio, no firmware upgrade support), but mine has a special problem... I can't generate a database as Media Studio can't see it at all. I suspect this is because the previous owner deleted some rather important system files and now I have no idea as to what the directory structure should look like, nor what the contents of the directories should be. I specifically want to know what is supposed to be in the DATA and SYSTEM folders, and where they should be (both on the root of the device, right?). Can anyone help with this please? Or perhaps post up the relevant files? (.hdr,.idx and .bin?) I am beginning to suspect that the standard J70 files are named/numbered differently to my J70J, as they do not help when dropped on the player ![]() Sorry for the lengthy first post, just wanted to clarify the problem Thanks for any assistance.

Sorry - I should probably have listed them in the original post
![]() I have DATA and SYSTEM both as root folders ('system' one is hidden), and in them are the following: DATA: nothing, hidden or otherwise. SYSTEM: DATA_FOLDER.SDB HD_DATA.SDB J70.fnt J70.SDB J70_NODES_SYNC_INFO.SDB SYSTEM.VER and a whole load of DIR_I001.SDB/SDx/Sxx and a DIR_INFO.SDB Many thanks for your help

Ok so I checked on my YH-J70, there are not exactly the same files as it is a UMS version but the main file, the J70.fnt is the same.
So you can try several things: -Upgrade from SMS to EmoDio -Format your player -Reinstall a MTP firmware

Well, thanks for trying.
I tried formatting, reinstalling the firmware, swapping the harddrive for another compatible one and installing Emodio... ... Anyone want to buy a Samsung YH-J70J? ![]() Nothing will make the software recognise the hardware - it's a fully functional player in every other aspect, but without the ability to generate a database, all my songs have to be chosen through folder/file browsing alone on the device. It's just something I personally don't like, and I have bought another player that I am now *far happier* with. So I've given up on this now, but anyway, many thanks for trying lebellium
