Default some questions

hello

i am new to the ABI forums and i have some questions about the D2

first off, i have had ipods for a long time now, from the first nano, to the touch.

i have just recently decided that i wanted something other than an ipod mostly on the fact that the ipod is just too popular and with the reviews ive seen, sounds like crap.

so, about the D2, i am really considering it as my next player

i was wondering if there are any bugs with the D2. on other forums that i have read, ppl say that they have bricked there D2 and that the power button were falling off.

When making a playlist, is it easy to make an "on-the-go" playlist.

how can you put files onto the expansion card?

does the D2 support album artwork? Does the D2 have the ability to shuffle AND repeat while playing music, and does the shuffle work well?

also i would like ask if the support from Cowon is good. i live in the States and i dont want to be stuck with a screwed up player

thnx for reading my post and please enlighten me.

All players have bugs, personally I don't have a d2, but the i7 and I've found no bugs with latest firmware update other than aa on ogg or flac, which I don't use. That said, from my experience cowon has great build quality, if someone was complaining, they probably abused their player.

Yes, DPL (dynamic playlist) and you don't have to go to various folders, can be done from the dpl folder.

drag & drop, no special software needed.

Yes, Yes, Yes and Yes

Yes, online support ... but I've never had to use them.

Once again, welcome and enjoy abi >>

I actually have some questions of my own. Instead of making a new thread I'll continue here.

My first question is:
1. Where do I buy a Cowon D2 other than Amazon.com? Noone seems to carry this pmp. (I want a 16GB one)

2. Does the D2 support 32GB SD cards? Does it have to be SDHC?

3. Does the FM Tuner display the metadata that some stations broadcast? That way I can see the name of the radio station, the current artist and name of the song.

4. How good does the D2 sound with UE Triple.Fi Pro and Klispch Custom 3 IEMs.

5. Does the D2 support Widgets? (Calendar, Calculator, Dictionary)

You can get it from jetmall.net, ebay, and B&H photo. It supports SDHC or just normal SD cards. It comes with a dictionary and a calculator, but it can also handle some flash apps if you can find them, such as games.

Well regarding those stores...I'm refering to the ones that are authorized retailers..so eBay may not count. Some companies don't support the warranty if its not from authorized retailers.
Know anything about 32GB SD card support?

Thanks for your help.

B&H Photo and J&R Music World are both authorized resellers, and I know from experience that J&R has great customer service.
