Default Wall charger on sale at wal-mart $16

Found this at walmart last night. Bought one plugged my usb cable in and hooked up my z5. It charged it up without any problem. The Z5 didn't even get warm. The symbol even turned green when it was full. My unit wasn't that low so it didn't take long so I'm not sure how fast it actually works but hey its $16. I'm not gonna complain. Registered on the board just to tell everyone about my find in the hopes that it would help someone out. Love the board and my Z5. Keep bangin.

Default update

Been using the charger for a few days now and its great. No problems what so ever. Seems like a full charge will take maybe 45min to 1 hr. I'm not that sure because I've not let my player get all the way down in the battery life. Just an update for those that where still skeptical.

Default Give Sony a Chance

Hi Gang: I personally use a Sony AC-U50A. Earlier on in late Spring the board was full of folks who were leary over charging their new "baby" via any other means but the suggested Samsung method.

Anyway time has seemed to cure the issue and we are no longer afraid of using chargers.

I love the Sony I was speaking of. Uses both North American and European currents. Just have to buy the prongs thing that makes the connection to the wall if you are lucky to be going over the pond in the future,

Also, the guy who sold it to me said that it still would take 4 hrs to charge, but in fact it has cut the time by 1/2. 2 instead of 4 hours.

I was taken for a ride over the price. Future Shop here in Vancouver, as well as the rest of Canada are charging 5 bucks more than the MSRP from Sony. $40.00 instead of $35.00 aprox.

Sometimes, Ya just can't win in all angles!

Talk to Ya soon,

Dave

Default Re Sony

I forgot to tell you that I always let the Z-5 get to the point of exhaustion. It barely can say "Low Battery"

Does anyone have any issues with this method? Battery university was of little help. I wasn't sure that leaving it get that low b4 charging every time was doing the unit any harm?

I did search the Forum for answers to this but was unsuccessful

Not a good idea for Lithium batteries which prefer to be charged frequently and not run down too much.

Thanks Mogles, I didn't know that, and will remember not to let it get to the point of exhaustion b4 I charge it again.
