Sansa e200 Version 1.1?

Was floating in the chat and a member had a few questions about taking apart an e280. Linking to this http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum...60+disassembly
After taking a look at the pictures, they seemed quite strange to me. Especially the scroll wheel.
I quickly grabbed my e280 to see if I could help the stuck lad. As I love taking apart my sansas.
I remembered my scroll wheel was very different, after comparing the photos to my model for a bit I noticed the difference.


After a bit of googling and searching on this site here, came up with nothing.

Keep in mind, mine is a refurbished model. However, I was just wondering if anyone had ever noticed this before and if and what the differences were. I have Rockbox loaded onto mine and haven't had any [recent] problems.

I was helping the same person and found out mine was version 1.1 OSP.

I just came across this old thread via a web search while wondering if there is any other difference between the plain 1.1 version with the (knobby) rim of the scroll wheel built into the faceplate and the 1.1 OSP version with the (almost smooth) scroll wheel separate from the faceplate.

I've examined dozens of these, working and non-working, and taken apart quite a few. For whatever reason, well over 80% of the ones I've looked at have the OSP version. The v.2's I have* seem to have the same kind of scroll wheel as the 1.1 OSP version, so presumably the design with the scroll wheel rim in the faceplate was abandoned early on in e200 production.

I wonder if there are any other differences between the two v.1.1 boards, and if there ever was a v.1[.0] board?

* I don't have a v.2 around at the moment that I want to disassemble, so I'm just going by what's on the outside.
