Music syncing based on 'Smart' playlists

Good afternoon,

One problem I'm having with my 4Gb D2- it's only 4Gb! I'm using FLAC files, and I'm waiting for 32Gb SDHC to come down a bit in price. In the meantime, I want to auto sync 4Gb of my music based on last transferred, i.e it's replaced with new music from my library without me having to choose it. The ability to assign scores to individual tracks and filter based on them too would be good

e.g. select [3Gb] music that is [**** or *****] and [1gb] music that is [** or ***) and have not been transferred in the last [2 weeks].

Ideally the last played would be updated by the D2 on a track by track basis but I'm pretty sure it doesn't do this.

Any ideas which music management software would handle this? I don't care if it's MTP or UMS/MSC.

It's free and the learning curve is a little high.

Thanks for that. I actually discovered that program after a bit more forum lurking. The smart playlists look quite powerful, and I haven't had time to look through all the details yet, or even hook my D2 up to it.

I use J.River, I think you'll be very impressed w/it's features. The best part is, at least for me, that it's a simple to use, but still powerful, music management program. Think you'll enjoy it & it's GREAT for putting playlists on the D2 (I have about 12/100 song playlists on mines!!!).

I'm liking J.River, thanks for the reccomendations. Now I'm just ripping my CDs to flac, which takes a while.

One question- how amenable are Cowon to implementing requests? I'd really like the player to tell the media manager the last played date/time, which I think very few audio players have apart from the iPod.
