Default How to find out if you have v1 or v2 Clip
The easiest way to tell if you have a v1 or v2 is by the firmware version. If you have a Clip v2, the firmware version will be 2.XX.XX. If you have firmware version 1.XX.XX, you have a Clip v1.

To get your firmware version by:

1. Go into the Main Menu
2. Select Setting on the Main Menu
3. Scroll and select System Info

Edit: You can not switch the firmwares around because it looks like it has a small hardware changes.

I've noticed that revision 2 has a flower like logo on its back instead of "Sandisk".

Seems that revision 2 has a faster "cpu" as it can decode ogg down to quality -2 (aoTuVb5) while my rev. 1 could not go below quality 3...

So I would assume the one difference is that logo?
And faster CPU?

But the same design on both?

The Clipv1 has a arm922tdmi (ARMv4) at 250MHz
The Clipv2 has a arm926ejs (ARMv5) at 250MHz as well, but the newer ARM architecture has new instructions which help optimizing the codecs.

I assume that could mean better battery life on the v2, at least concerning Rockbox?

I just bought a Clip+ and I have firmware V.01.01.05A.
There is a flower on the back of the clip with SanDisk on the bottom of the clip.
What's the deal?
Is this a V1, what version is better? Should I have received a V2 having purchased it a few days ago from Amazon?

The Clip+ is not the same as the Clip. There's only one version of the Clip+.

No the original clip also has radio too, there are several differences but the main differences are the microSD expansion slot, change from a circle click wheel to a d-pad, power/lock slider switch changed to the on/off/lock button.

And, nicely, folder navigation (as distinct from ID3 tag/database navigation) has been added with the Clip+.
