I just went to amazon.com and looked up the price of the p2. The 8GB only costs $186 right now. You can make it even cheaper by applying for the amazon credit card. If you have not bought a p2 and you want one, this is your chance.

I read on CNET.com today that there is a P2+ coming out soon that should be $180 for the 8gig. It's the same P2 only it has all the bluewaves preloaded onto it so that it ships with the latest firmware so you don't need to upgrade it yourself..

I bought an 8gb P2+ at my local Best Buy on Tuesday this week. It cost me $179 + tax. The installed firmware was revision 5.09.

This is my first post here. I actualy came here to see what everyone thought about the pricing of the P2 at Best Buy. It is $179.00. I thought it was a pricing mistake at first, but it seems that this is the new MSRP.

Some background: I was never interested in any type of player until last year while looking for one for a friend. That was when I first came across the P2 as well as learned about the many Chinese players out there. I bought her an Onda 747, which she loves. I eventualy bought an 8 gb Meizu and another 8gb + Rockchip playher for myself. They are both fantastic! The Meizu has great sound.. The Rochip player (Pasen F10 or Nationite R1.. whichever repranded it) playes movies very well.

I do not know much about all of the formatting and all, but I guess many people get the Chinese players because they play more formats as well as cost a whole lot less. Anway, went to Best Buy yesterday and for the first time in a year, got to actually listen to the P2. Usually, it is not turned on or it does not have any files on it. I was shocked when I found out the price. I was going to wait until Nov. when I figured the prices woul drop anyway to make room for the 16gb players.. which I assume will be showing up in Best Buy..since they already have them in Best Buy in Canada.

I wold love the 16 GB players.. and if it is around 200.00 in the winter. .. then I can afford it. Do you all think this is a posibility or should I just snatch up the 8 GB right now? I tell ya, that is certainly a nice sounding player! Whew!

Hell, I would not even open it for 30 days just incase a better deal comes along. I am in no hurry to use it... my other players work fine.. but I have been drooling over it for a minute.. and actualy thought it was a pricing mistake until I read that someone else actually had gotten it for that price. I mean... when you check Best Buy's site.. the black 8gb is the same as the burgandy 4 gb.

I just got the 4GB black at CircuitCity for $119.99.

Of course, that isn't a sale price, I managed to talk them down to that price. They had the wrong tag in front of the player, another samsung player for $69.99. Obviously I wasn't going to get the p2 for that price, but I think I got away with a nice deal.

The player is totally worth $149.99/$179.99, but if you can go lower, why not?

fry's recently got new stock of the p2 4gb in burgandy at the lower msrp. Recently it was on sale near me at $79.99+tax. I'm waiting for the 8gb to go on sale or possibly the P3??. Who knows.

the LA/OC Fry's has the YP-P2JAR RED for $80 till tomorrow. Don't know if this is the P2 you are talking about. It is the 4GB version.


Does this have pitch control? If so, I'll tell my dad to buy it (he listens to mostly audiobooks and wants to go through them faster!)
