Xenodius, I was thinking of the Fiio too. I have not got mine from my friend's house. So I do not know how good it is.

Need an amp? mine are driven fine on my Zen no amp needed. 29 ohm I believe, I'd have to look at the package which I don't have on me right now.

Dont think those cans really need an amp.

Wouldn't spend more then a FiiO's worth on them. Also, never tried the V150's but dont think any Sony cans would really work too well with the FiiO's bass boost. Sony cans tend to be pretty bassy and bright. Although, the v150's might be tamer then the normal Sony stock.

Seriously, if your going to spend 50$ (Roughly the cost of a good CMOY amp) on a pair of 20$ cans, save the money for somthing bigger. An AMP doesn't always make somthing sound better, unless you like the sound of money being spent ;D

Bassy and bright are oxymorons. Generally. If you're having trouble getting bass reproduction from your sansa player, get the FiiO E3. It's 8 bucks and does exactly what you want: A little amplification and a richer bass sound.

Being bassy, doens't mean a headphone cant be bright aswell. They can have a V shaped sound signature, the midrange is recessed.

I've always felt that maybe the reason Sony puts the V infront of most of there headphones is because there sound signature is almost always the V shaped "Rock Signature" style While thats not true, just every set of Sony cans I've owned (3) have had this trait.

I don't know but the EQ on my Sansa is odd. if i put the bass on 4, some of my songs with lots of bass sound distorted, also with the high notes too, some songs with real high notes hiss. but when i listen to the same songs on another MP3 player like my brother's Zen or my Sister's Sony, it does not make any weird distortions.

Avoid using the EQ on your player, it will always sound worse (well atleast not any better) than a hardware EQ curve like one you would find on an amplifier. Get the FiiO, I promise you will like it.

True, I guess I've just never heard anyone refer to it that way. I suppose I've always just said they had "recessed midrange." Moot point though... :0

No. You can get it straight from your local Honk Kong merchant though...
