Dude, whatever it is, this wifi stuff in zen is seriously a pain in the @55.
Now I agree with you bobby, Wifi is one of the major drawbacks in zen x-fi. |

Following on from my earlier post, there's been some success on the original issue of connection to the media server, courtesy of the following link that explains how to configure Tversity for streaming to the Zen X-Fi:
http://www.techinhiding.com/mp3-players/s treaming-to-the-zen-x-fi-via-tversity/ It didn't work right away, but since following the various troubleshooting steps the unit is now, after several weeks of stonewalling, happily selecting the Tversity media server on every request, so I'm very grateful to the people at techinhiding.com (and the guy who posted the link on Amazon) for helping me to enable what is in fact a very useful feature of the product and not a p in the a at all; I'm still learning, but it turns out you can wirelessly stream to the Zen from the net - brilliant! I don't understand why the Creative Centrale Media Server still won't show - everything else is obviously in place. In fact, the last few connection attempts don't even list the previously ubiquitous Creative MediaBox - can't say I miss it though. I hope this will help someone else - please pass it on. |
