Question A charger thought ...

Hi all,

I'm new on here - got my Z5 today so far loving it (aside from some slight teething probs and fact that the earphones keep falling out of my ears ... cx 300's coming tomorrow!) The reason I thought that I'd post is to a) say thanks for all the easy to follow advice you guys post on here and b) to put forward an idea about chargers.

Whilst charging up my new Z5 ( ) through usb, my mum appeared in the living room with her Samsung E720 mobile phone and charger so she could charge her phone up in comfort. This got me thinking ... the port on the bottom of the Z5 looks remarkably like those on Samsung mobile phones. So I checked it out, and low and behold, they are the same. The usb cable fits into the port on both my sister's Samsung mobiles and my mum's.

Now I'm far to scared to actually try my Z5 with the phone charger but I thought I'd see what people think about this little find.

dont do it!!! I'm pretty sure another person posted a similar topic either here or in the Z5 forum a few months ago and basically it killed his Z5. i assume this is because each device requires different amounts of power or something like that. But i suggest you dont do it.

These things are a grade one PITA when it comes to batteries and charging.

There have been so many incidents that a lot of people are terrified of doing anything other than connecting them to a computer's USB port.

In actual fact, all these chargers should be perfectly safe. It's the Z5 that's the problem.

When they screw up whilst/after being attached to a computer, people blame the Z5. When they screw up after being attached to a charger they blame the charger.

It's superstitious nonsense, but what y'gonna do?
