Default mp3 player and AA battery pwr

Greetings, Currently I have a sansa e260 running rockbox. I also like the microsd additional storage capability. perfect would be a player using AA nimh batteries that I could recharge via car or solar or whatever. AAA not desirable but would consider if no other alternative. thanks for any suggestions.

I had a Samsung MT6Z that was 1g and used AA but players with consumer batteries are getting scarce. I did the same thing , charged rechargeables in the car, it worked out good but the batteries don't last as long as regular AA.

There were very few AA battery based mp3 players made. There were some iRiver models(the 1 gig T50, and some older 1 gig(perhaps also 2 gig? models), a Panasonic 1 and 2 gig model(good sound quality, 35+ hours battery life, but low power output, and a display that usually shows track number rather than track name. Few dealers have these left, and typically those who have these want plenty for them). Cowon made a AA based model, however it is no longer available. There is a new RCA model that uses AA and has an SD card slot, however my guess is that the sound quality is probably not great. As for AAA battery based players, there is the iRiver T60 available up to 4 gigs. It gets around 19 hours battery life and has good sound, but the joystick is hard to use accurately, and it is very easy to get an undesired result. The Creative T200 has nice sound quality(no radio though), around 18 hour battery life, but very slow transfer speed(around USB1). If you change the music on your player often, you will find this very annoying. Then the is the very low priced Sandisk m250 2 gig. The m250 gets around 19 hours of battery life, and has good to excellent sound quality(depending on which chip is in the player). The T60 and T200 browse by folders, while the m250 browses by ID3 tags. There are the Creative Nano Plus or the Nano that uses a AAA(up to 1 gig capacity) that has good sound quality, 18 hour battery life, but a bit low on power output. These are getting hard to find though. There is also a new model RCA AAA based player with an SD card slot(see my comments about the new RCA AA based players). There are some other AAA based players, but most of the others get 10 hours or less of battery life.
