Default Converted to SDXC

First - Many Thanks!! to all who have contributed. I recently resurrected my Zen 60. Recently it started randomly stopping-starting during several songs.

Following tips on this forum I was going to install a SSD drive but while browsing on Amazon I found the following for less that $50 USD:

64GB SDXC:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

SDHC to CF Adapter:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

CF Card to ZIF Adapter:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I followed the instructions on ths forum for opening the case. I had to search online to figure out how to open the ZIF connector on the original HDD - Couldn't believe it was so easy.

I connected the battery and left everything open while I tested. It gave me a Firmware Problem when I turned it on. I was able to format the new SD Card and then did the Reload Firmware. It came right up after that. I formatted the SD Card again just to be safe and copied some music files - worked perfectly.

For insulation, I trimmed a standard business card and put one on either side of the CF-to-ZIF adapter when I reassembled.

I also bought a 1500mah battery but got a firmware error on that also so I put the original battery back in (luckily I did not damage it when I removed it). Since I have the Zen 60 with the 1.21.02e firmware I don't know if I can use another battery. Most of the posts here are for the Zen 30 with higher versions of firmware available.

Anyways - with the SDCard not requiring as much power as the HDD I'm finding the battery is lasting much longer, the Zen also starts and shuts down much faster.

Best,
Bob
