Updater not recognizing MSC mode M240

I need to switch to the European firmware for some M240's. They have FW v.1.3.0A. The SanDisk updater software recongnizes the player in the regular mode but in MSC mode, the update service does not automatically appear.

Is there a manual way to switch this version of the firmware to the european one (need to get rid of the radio)?

Yes, it can be done using the updater found at http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/Default.aspx?CatID=1326 and switching some files around that it creates in the Windows\Temp folder.

However, it turns out that firmware version 1.3.0E has the radio enabled as well so that doesn't help

Remove updater from your pc, down load latest version of updater and reinstall ... then connect player and try again.
