Red face How does Tagging work with Rockbox?

hello,

i finally got my step-sister's Sansa E260 DAP working again after the fearless BROD (Blue Ring of Death) problem. the new guide helped a lot and many thanks to the guy who posted it. i'm having some trouble with the Track numbering order. i have my File Names as 01 - Example.MP3 and i even tried just the file Name without the 01 in front. does Rockbox need 01 or whatever to be within the Track Title as well? the track order goes completely wrong when there is more then 10 tracks within an Album.

Edit: just tried with putting 01 in the titles and no go. also i forgot to explain that the 10th tracks go first like so..

1 - Example.MP3
10 - Example.MP3
11 - Example.MP3
12 - Example.MP3
2 - Example.MP3

Etc...

what is wrong here?

Tagging within rockbox works pretty much the same as it does with any other mp3 software.

Note that filenames arent tags, tags are embedded within the mp3 file itself. Use a program such as Mp3Tag to add tags to all of your files - it has a 'convert filenames to tags' function which will take the track number and title info from the filename and populate the tag with them.

First name your files as follow:
01 - Example.mp3
02 - Example.mp3
...
10 - Example.mp3
and so on

Then, on your player, select Settings, General Settings, File View.
"Sort Case Sensitive" must be set to No.
"Sort Directories" and "Sort Files" must both be set to "Alphabetical"!
I had the same problem when I installed rockbox on my sansa the first time.

The only thing left to do is turning off that damned wheel and you're done^^
