Default Rockbox Committing (Refreshing) Database

One of the many reasons to use Rockbox in lieu of OF is OF's habit of interminable Database Refreshes.

Now when I start my E270 w/8GB uSDHC, I get "Committing Database" - all 9 parts. I got the latest (at that time) build and reloaded Rockbox - to no avail.

1) Before loading a new build, should I have REMOVED the old one?

2) Any other suggestions??

You can just replace the files that is needed. Then you will not lose your info.

Since I don't know which files to replace, I deleted the ".rockbox" subbie and unzipped a newer build to the E270. Then I added fonts and the theme I like (RetroLCD).

No more COMMITTING DATABASE!!!
