Just order one from DealExtreme for USD 8.50, no need for these ripoff prices.

Thumb Up

I've had mine for about a month now and I'm still impressed with it. Really compliments my Vibes and makes up a little for the shortcomings of the Archos' low sound quality. How bout some pics?

As you can see, it's velcro'd onto the back of my 40 gb 504 and the cord is hocley taped in place (can you tell I'm Canadian? )

I'm planning to mod the heck out of my Sansa e250...gonna buy a broken e280 on eBay and swap the memory, change the LEDs to nice yellow ones, and that with Rockbox will make my little e250 into a pretty sweet lookin cheap 40 gb (potentially) flash player. Gonna get a black FiiO to go with that setup. Already done the "Keep the dust out" mod, though I used hockey tape there too, and instead of placing the tape on the screen itself, I made a gasket around the window for the screen on the black faceplate on the inside; very pleased with the results of that!

  • Independent On/Off switch
  • Electronic volume control to eliminate hissing after long usage
  • Back clip
  • Build-in rechargeable Li-ion battery
  • USB charging circuit
New functions include:
  • Output power increases 30%
  • Better SNR
  • Less distortion
  • Better resistance to electromagnetic interference
E5 will be roughly the same size as E3, but slimmer.

No release date yet.

The new version sounds a little like a hybrid of the old E3 and the Travagans Colors.

I don't really like the Colors...the awkward shape of the dog bone would make it difficult to secure it to my player (save using an elastic band and covering my buttons/screen) but the E5 sounds great. As long as it's under $30 I'll probably get a couple of em

There's a big 50 page thread about the new E5 over on head-fi.org. I'll give you guys the gist of it. They're improving the SNR, making the case out of metal, adding a built in rechargable li-ion battery, a bass boost on/off switch, and shaping it like the iPod Shuffle. Oh, and it should cost around $20 for us in North America to buy one. It'll come in two colours, black/red and black/silver. Here's the thread if you really wanna read through it..you can skip most everything except the big long posts/posts with pictures
