Default problem with Muvo V200

I've had a V200 for close to 4 years now. I'd say it's a sturdy little unit, having been bashed around and dropped many times. I'm afraid it's had one too many falls though.

Now, audio sounds flat, like it's all mids and no treble. When i up the volume to about 20, the sound stutters and cuts in and out. The EQ also doesn't work properly; if i raise the highest EQ band (i like to use a V-shape EQ), the same stuttering and cutting in and out happens. If i leave the volume and EQ at a setting where the audio plays, i can detect very faint static or fizz in the background.

I remember having a similar problem before that flashing the firmware fixed, but now nothing seems to help. I'm completely bummed that i let this happen to my player because i've had it for so long now. If anything else it still functions as a flash drive.

I hate to say this, but it sounds like the inside of your player has sustained physical damage. It is likely that there is a broken contact somewhere around or on the decoder chip.

Yeah, I think so too. Also try checking the headphone jack. If you plug in your headphones and wiggle the connector around, do you get any changes in sound, cutting in and out, etc.? Do you see the jack moving around?
