i just installed the rockbox following the tutorial step by step and everything seemed fine but when i plug my e260 player into the computer it goes to this Refresh Datebase screen and i cant do anything about it. i have to unplug it and hold the power button until it shuts off. when i turn it back on it goes to rockbox. i dont know how to access the e260 with my computer to add music and things. im confused

Try turning on your sansa while holding |<< (it makes the bootloader boot into OF), then wait for Refresh Database to finish to plug in your USB cable.
Also, when it says Refresh Database, is it frozen or just taking a long time to finish? If it's taking a long time to finish, it could just be the size of your music library. In that case, try this bootloader: ...hmm, can't seem to find the thread...i'll just upload it

Even after patching with the bootloader I uploaded?
Hmmm, try renaming your MUSIC folder (I'm assuming that's where you keep your music). You can do it in Rockbox (if you don't see the MUSIC folder using the file browser, go to Settings -> General Settings -> File View -> Show Files -> All).

Ive renamed my MUSIC folder the Refresh Database is stuck on the same spot as before.

I dont fully understand how to patch with the bootloader when I cant connect the device with the computer. It just goes to Refresh Database everytime i plug it in and gets stuck as it seems.

hmmm, that's quite full...It could be that there is not enough room for the OF to create the database files.
I was searching on google for this problem and came across a thread at sandisk's forums: http://forums.sandisk.com/sansa/boar...hread.id=18721
Does that problem seem similar to yours?

google is your friend~
well, since you still have your .rockbox folder on your sansa, you can either do a clean install (delete folder and then unzip it again) or just reinstall the bootloader. I recommend that you use the NoDB bootloader (it disables Database Refresh when you plug in your USB cable but not when you hold |<<).
To install that bootloader, just:
1. Connect your sansa to your computer in MSC mode
2. Run the sansapatcherNoDB application and follow its instructions
(if your sansa isn't detected, make sure that it is FAT32)
3. That's it!

*FAT32:
1. Connect your sansa to your computer in MSC mode
2. Go to My Computer and right click on your sansa's drive
3. Select Format... and choose FAT32
4. Wait for it to finish and unplug your sansa, reconnect and reload music
