Default RDS System on fw 5.08 ?
Hi everybody,

Does anybody know if RDS System exists with KR fw 5.08 ?
Or still we have to wait a EU version ?

The dictionary HAS NOT BEEN CHANGED. If you compare the old one with the new one, they both have the same version number (v1.0.8) So no change has been made there. The only difference I see is that we got a couple of bug fixes and we got the old Woody and such UCIs back. I suspect that this is NOT the full release of BW4, as I remember hearing from a number of tech representatives that the full version of BW4 and the full version of EmoDio (non-Beta) would be released at the same time. Just hope I am right and that we will see another update in some time to come......

5.05 is left only in Beta. In stead of releasing a final 5.05, they reelase a new one. I guess the next major updade will be 6.xx. Do you think this update is just an excuse for the delay of the waited BW 4?

This is only the final version of the 4th bluewave. There are only bug fixes and no new function.

Improvements will be in next bluewave

As far as I know it's the final Blue Wave firmware.
Though it does not necessarily mean it's the last overall firmware update.

I mean Samsung did everything they promised with regards to the bluetooth functions of the P2. They may however add additional features in the future. Fixing tags in AACs, OGGs and WMAs would be nice.

hmm.. doesnt look like a lot has changed in this new firmware. is it even worth upgrading to? they just did a bit of bug fixing with issues that never really bothered me lol.

Probably.
In general, there is a firmware support during still 1 year after the product release. Even more for successful products. The P2 has a gread inexploited potential so I'm sure there still will be new firmwares until end of 2008

I dont have my P2 now, but when I do I hope that the new themes work now cause they didnt work with 5.05.

Default Cannot install this update!
Hello, and first let me say I've read the stickys on how to install these updates. The 5.08 however will not drag and drop onto my root directory; and I've definitely had it unzipped.

I have dropped the games update into the games file, yet the YPP2 files will not transfer to the root as instructions say. Manually putting them in the system folder, even tho they copy, changes nothing. Device when disconnected and rebooted does not change. Even when I DELETE the old files, and copy in the new 5.08, it does not change the firmware which is still reading 4.13.

Bizarrely, the games folder shows the new games, but they will not play as it says they are not compatible. I am running a 4 month old Dell, with Vista. Product code on the Sammy is YP-P2JCB/XAA, and it is an 8 GB model.

I was hoping to be able to use the Rhapsody Channels with this update, but it simply refuses to install; anyone else have this problem or can suggest a workaround or solution? Thanks!

It doesn't show RDS data when applied as KR.
If your P2 has set EU, it should show it. There will be no special EU version.
