Default YP-PB2 (P2 with DMB) has been released in Korea...

It's not released in the U.S. yet, but YP-PB2 (for those who might not know this, this is the follow-up to P2 w/ DMB and much better video quality... it has mDNle or something like that) has been released in Korea... it's about $210 for 4 GB (which some ppl mentioned it is less than p2 when it was released..) I cannot believe they released this.. I'd rather have them make a better firmware than a brand new product... What do you guys think?

it's just a P2 with an antenna for DMB
we can't use it anyway... yet
we'll get it eventually, it's another way to advertise to the masses
give it some years, after this whole analog to digital TV switch, we'll get a flood of them
I just hope apple doesn't jump on the gravy train first
DMB is actually useful in Korea only. In Europe, digital TV is done by DVB, in the US its ATSC, and of course, all of them are different...

AFAIR, some one found the string DMB in the P2 firmware, maybe the FW versions don't differ that much... This does not mean that DMB would possible on the none-B-version of the P2 eventually, but we would get some additional software features as well...

i know there all different. what I meant is that we'll get on of our own. we already have other data connections for mobile devices, just a matter of time before we'll broadcast to all mobile devices. verizon already has dibbs on a ton of the analog stuff though

All HD is already digital.

In February of 2009 the United States will stop all high power analog broadcasting of television signals. That means that any of the channels you could pick up with an antenna before (unless you already have a digital TV) no longer will exist. So the DTV switch means that all over the air channels (like NBC, ABC, FOX, etc) will now only broadcast digitally and without a special box or a digital television (like a new fancy HDTV) will not get a signal over the air.

The point of a DTV P2 is that it would be able to pick up TV like signal sent to the device, and play it like you were watching TV. The problem with this P2 is that it uses the DMB standard, which is not the standard that we use here in the United States. So this device would be worthless here because those frequencies are used for other things. Instead here in the states, the only system like that is called MediaFLO and it really only works on your cellphone if you have the feature.

Expect to start seeing ATSC compatible players like the P2 in the next year when the digital TV switch is made, and the demand for such a device starts to increase.

I'm pretty sure that, besides the obvious DMB addition, this player now "claims" to have a 47 hour audio, 7 hour video, and 5 hour DMB battery life rating now. It would be interesting to see if there is any significant increase in battery life...

We can't even get the 16gb P2 here in the USA - only the 4gb & 8gb models.

I've got one. It just requires a little work. Besides, if your not as driven to buy one then just wait untill fall wiht the P3. I'm sure it's gonna be better and it might even have a camera, Dtv, or wifi!
