if the reflection is fake, it's very good...they even lined up the angles in the separate reflections in the clip and the "zune"

This is a top-quality photoshop fake. Very good quality, very good attention to detail, but it seems as though the second picture settled for less. you can tell they're fake because this dude always has the latest news for us, he doesn't hide a discovery.

but for the picture with the missing cord reflection, the cord that seems to be missing a reflection is elevated. its not further to the side, its further above. the reflection can be seen next to the other cord's redlection, in a lighter shade since its further away from the surface.

the difficulty of the screen reflections lead me to believe this is a real device. but why the heck would microsoft make a new device the same size as its older device? I'd trust that they would go for an even slimmer profile.

by the way the comments for this on engadget are funny as hell

Compare it to the Zune 80 (I had it myself) and it DEF not bulky. Looks like a perfect form factor IMO.

Why iPod clone? Touch-based players have been around since long before the iPod Touch... but yes, the locked-down Zune monoculture certainly resembles iTunes by a lot.

Yes, that's what I was trying to point out but too busy to write before. To me, the software the Zune uses reminds me a lot of iTunes, plus, IMO the squircle is a bit like the click wheel. I believe the Zune also does movie rentals now? If so that is another "feature" the iPod has.

I think the photos are fake because they're trying too hard to prove they're not. The reflections and the fact that the other phone is on top of it are just attempts to prove the fake Zune is real. If you were going to take some spy photos of a not-yet-released gadget would you put a bunch of stuff on it? Or would you try to show as much information about it as possible. (Front, back, side) If you were trying to show it's size relative to another object (like the phone on top) you'd line it up next to it for comparison.

I probably used the words wrong before, but I must say I do see similarities in the functionality between the two DAPs. Hopefully Microsoft will get the anticipated Touch done right so there is better competition against Apple.

I think it will be a killer DAP if it has the following:
Large storage space
Voice Recording
Battery life of 30 hours of audio playback/7 hours of video playback or better.
Coupling this with the built in FM radio and better sound IMO it will be a winner.
