Default Refresh Database not detected in RB?

Hi,

I recently installed the latest cpchan Rockbox build for my sansa e280 and I transfered all my music to it from MediaMonkey to it thru the OF. When I first installed Rockbox in my Sansa it detected all my music and then sorted it into the albums, artists, etc. I tried to put more music into my Sansa through MediaMonkey, and RB didn't detect it and it didn't refresh it database but my OF had already detected it.

I tried to reinstall the OF firmware and then install the bootloader again since I read on the forum that that was what you were supposed to do, but it didn't help.

Any idea on how I can make my RB refresh its database again?

EDIT:Solved! Thank you!

PS. This might not help but I transfered my music through MSC mode.

Have you tried manually rebuilding the database via the menu? The Rockbox manual talks about.

RB doesn't auto update like the OF. You have to force it to update by going to Settings > Database > Update now (or something like that). It will then update the database with the stuff yo have on the player now.

What, exactly, do you think the auto update option for the database is supposed to do in Rockbox then?

Claiming the Rockbox database doesn't auto-update is extremely incorrect. It can be told to rather easily. Maybe actually giving the manual a look might be in order before you go about misleading people more?

It's sad to see this type of elitism in the open software arenas... he asked a simple question. No need to be rude.

You may have missed that these were two mods, I don't think any elitism was going on. BTW, the thread is from May of last year.
