Good to hear it supports Ogg Vorbis.
I'll wait until it's uploaded here or on the Sandisk forums - that piece of junk Sansa Updater will never pollute my computer again.

No reason to re-create the wheel for the different players; instead, get a good platform and continue to improve it, and then port it to all the line, as much as possible.

While I welcome the addition of playback speed control for podcasts very much, I wonder why it is not available to tracks in Music folder as well.
Also it is frustrating and misleading that press-hold on podcast episode says "added to playlist" but it actually doesn't. I often want to listen to more than one episodes of podcasts during my commute and not being able to add them to playlist is quite dissapointing. |

Does the screen turn off with this while charging on USB?

Guess I need to pull out my Ogg Vorbis collection, I retired it when I sold my D2. Now they need to add Ogg support to the Fuze.

Only after an hour or so. I don't understand why didn't they set it to the same value as the OLED screen timeout setting.

It's been over two months since I checked these forums, or the Sandisk forums. And now it seems that a new firmware came out yesterday.
It must be a sign!I've had a black 2GB Clip for just over two months now, and I love the little thing! I haven't really used it much, because I don't want to throw it in my bag and ruin it. The battery is still fine. Let's put on some new firmware. |

You think Sandisk will add some of the features not found on the Fuze (ogg vorbis support) to their other line of products (Fuze, View, etc.)

Disappointing explanation from SanDisk as to the display brightness enhancement for the 4gb player:

I'm delighted by the improved shuffle algorithms. I've had my Clip about two months, and I've got about 1.2GB worth of music on it. Five days a week I take my Clip to the gym and hit shuffle on the entire collection. That's the only thing I use it for.
Prior to updating the firmware yesterday, I definitely noticed I was hearing the same tracks over and over, day after day. But during yesterday's workout (after the firmware update), I would estimate that almost two-thirds of the tracks I heard had never been played in that entire two months. I didn't even remember I had most of this stuff loaded on there. I am really psyched, this is a big improvement.

I have the impression that the custom equalizer isn't working as it should be with the new firmware. Whenever I make a small adjustment the volume drops quite a bit, and the sound isn't really balanced anymore. I didn't experience this with the previous firmware, allthough sound could get really unbalanced if the sound was tweaked a lot. Small tweaks worked fine though.
Anyone else experiencing this? |

Nope. One of the first things I did after loading the firmware was adjust the EQ. I'd forgotten to write down my settings so I had to tweak and test, and I didn't notice anything like that.

Well I changed the firmware to m300s, instead of m300e. The effect I described above is now less noticable and I can actually improve the sound with the custom equalizer again. So i'm all happy now
