The screen does scratch easily. For instance, if I put it in my pants pocket with my keys, it will get scratched. Even though I can avoid that, it doesn't take much of a mistake to scratch it. I don't know about any protectors at this point.

The screen does scratch, but not as easily as the e200s. Mine doesn't have any scratches on the body, but the silver color is good at "hiding" scratches and dust.

I'm getting a Fuze myself and have been looking for cases. This looks pretty nice:

Silicone case with optional armband or clip. Also comes with screen protector. Lots of colors. It's $15, which seems pretty reasonable for everything you get. I love my 4GB Clip, so I'm thinking a Fuze with a clip on it would be pretty sweet.

My sis has one like that for the e200. The actual case is really good, but the "clip" is more of an extra and is not that great.

Anyways, does anyone know about a flip down leather case or one that protects the screen? (For the Fuze)

I doubt I would use the clip anyways.

Um one question, is this the same case and screen protector?

http://www.meritline.com/black-skin-sansa-fuze-761.html

I cant tell if it comes with that little thing that goes over the screen.

It looks very similar, but I'm not sure. It's a pretty good deal though.

after owning the player for the 2nd day (today) it seems to be scratch resistant, however i do not feel like testing how much abrasion the plastic will take before its ruined
i will probably grab the "Action Jacket" for now and use it until a hard case is released

ok, this is my 3rd day owning the fuze and it was in my front shirt pocket for most of the day, it is beginning to show minor signs of abrasion on the display.
after work, i bought the dlo action jacket (i dont want this thing scratched to hell already).
the DLO case fits snug, drawback is no belt clip, just arm band.

I picked up a silicone case for mine from eBay recently; it's pretty good, and I prefer it to my DLO one. The one I got was shipped with a clear screen protector, belt clip and armband also, for around $10 total.

I dont buy any device without ordering here at the same time

http://www.zagg.com/invisibleshield/...ns-shields.php

It has helped tons of my devices survive my wife and kids and they can be tough on devices.

Wow, that's a confusing statement for me. My Sansa's IMO have been VERY scratch resistant......my e260 has a slight scratch from when it slipped out of my hands and hit against a metal handle on a desk drawer on it's way to the floor......my e280 is still pristine. I guess I baby my devices....

For me, it's scratch easily. I had it on my little bag, with the earphones and my purse which has a zip on the back. Now it has two f**cking big scratch on the screen on the right side. I'm so pissed off.

Any ideas how to get it better?

I would guess using that Applesauce polish that was the big thing when iPods had the plastic front face......others have sworn to using Brasso, a silverware polish, and even using toothpaste for getting out small scuffs. The scratches in your photo above look to be substantial...I would try the Applesauce first.

IMO, a portable device that's encased in any plastic housing should be expected to get scratched if it's going to be carried in cases or pockets where it will come in direct contact with metalic objects: car keys, metal pens, pocketknives, spare coins. My idea of a device that scratches "easily" would be a device where the plastic is so soft, it scratches from items that you'd normally not expect to scratch, like other plastic items, or linen cloth. The Sansa e200 sansas were far more scratch resistant than the 1st generation iPod Nano, which had the soft plastic front and would get scuffs from being wiped clean by a linen cotton cloth.

But as long as it's plastic, if you are throwing it into pockets with other metal objects, like keys or metal zippers, etc., you need to expect it to get scratched. Get a case for it, cover it with a protective vinyl film, or go buy a DAP that's housed in a metal casing. Those are your only options, IMO.....
