Samsung P2 SDK Petition

SDK or software develpment kit would allow develpers to make programs for the P2.

Recently a user set up a page to vote for a P2 SDK. Unfortunately this individual took advantage of the P2 community and turned the site (****.p2.googlepages.com) into a for profit spam page.

I know many of us (myself included) are pessimistic on the idea of this happening and is in my opinion not in Samsung's best interest. While I still hold to the views i expressed in the last SDK thread, i will fully support the community's quest to make the Samsung P2 SDK a reality.

Please use this thread only to voice your support for the SDK and discuss reasons why it should happen. Please refrain from debating the feasibility.

Samsung does read this forum and often sends tech support callers to this site- so you will be heard.

Samsung if you make an SDK for the P2 then I will be a customer for life, my children will be customers for life, and their kids, and their kids, and their kids... PLEASE!!

As will I. I was thinking after the P2, I want to switch to something more flexible and hackable/customizable. I love Samsung products, I just wish we could make them more than they already are.

I agree with the people in the last thread that it would probably never happen but it would be sweet if it did. Maybe with the next gen they will majorly consider it.

This is the same exact thing i was thinking about today.... Im actually thinking about selling my p2 and getting a 8gb or maybe a 16gb(havnt decided if i need that much yet) ipod touch.

Like i said in another post somewhere, the only reason the touch has been hacked is that there is more of them about, so the hackers will get better known. Whereas the P2 is not well known so the hackers will not get known aswell.

this is ridiculous reasoning. so you're saying people only hacked the ipod touch to get 'better known'? so what about p2 users? they're not as vain then?

I want an SDK also, but I don't know if there are enough people out there to create anything. I mean most programers don't even know a Samsung P2 even exists. Don't get me wrong, I want an SDK. I would have no ideahow to programs something with touch commands.

The P2 is the best selling MP3 player Samsung currently sells. There are lots of people in Korea who have them (correct me if I am wrong!) I think that the first person that manages to create an app or hack, or replacement FW would be a legend in the P2 community. Once we have pioneers, there will be an explosion of "UCA's". I Don't know why Samsung would be against that.
