Default P2 will not transfer photos

My P2 will not let me transfer photos. At all. I’ve manage it before but it just will not let me do it now.

I can’t drag and drop it just tell me the file has one or more properties outside of the device limits.
<O
Which is doesn’t. 240 x 423 jpeg with 96 dpi.
<O</O
What is it doing, no one else has ever seemed to have this problem. Something is definetly up as when I copy a file already on the device and then try to copy it back on it gives me the same message about being to big.
<O</O
SMS is useless, brings up the transder box but doesn’t transfer it.
<O</O
Any help would be great.
<O</O
Thanks

Why 96 dpi? Try resaving it as 72dpi. That might make a difference. I can't say for sure because I don't have photoshop on this coffee shop terminal.

no that doesn't work either. I think something is wrong because surely it would re-copy back the files that were originaly on it? But i still keep getting the message.

Edit:
Ok i just went ahead and said "Yes" to the image has properties outside of the device limits. So it copied it, and said only to store it.

Now when I got to pictures the preview is not there, its just like a grey man on a black background but i can access the picture if i click on it.

Is this going to be a re-format jobby?

Not necessarily
I get that message too when transferring photos via drag-and-drop. There's no difference whether you'll do it with SMS or that way. What SMS essentially does is embed a thumbnail in the picture, so you don't see that grey man.

You could, however, use any image editing software (say, The GIMP), resize your pictures and adjust whatever properties necessary. Then, upon saving, tick the thumbnail option. In The Gimp that would be Save as -> filename.jpg -> advanced options -> Save thumbnail. Afterwards, just dump them in the Pictures folder on your P2.

E voilą - you get a photo with a nice preview instead of the gray torso

Thanks Lilghost that worked. That seems like a great image editor too.
