hey everyone, i have gotten fed up with the ipod, and its tie to itunes. I am looking to buy an Archos 605 wifi, but the problem is that i have had itunes for the past 3 years, and i therefore have a few hundred songs purchased from them. I know that these files are protected, but is there a way for me to get the Archos 605 wifi to play these files?

I think archos sells a plug in that lets you transfer itunes songs, I could be mistaken about that,

is that the same plugin that lets you view podcasts, or is it a different one?

there was a free plugin for 3rd gen players that were able to do that
I doubt it would work with the 5th gen players or the latest iTunes software other than that I have read about getting the music out of iTunes in threads of others who wanted to use their iTunes library in non-iPod players |

I'd just put my music collection on CD. Then if I ever wanted to listen to it on my mp3 player I'd rip it to my hard drive without DRM.
