Default YP-P2 volume display not working!

Hi group - If I've posted this in the wrong spot, then I apolise in advance!
I purchased my Samsung YP- P2 a couple of days ago and I love it, but for one little thing! - My on screen volume control doesn't work, in fact it does'nt even appear when I touch the right side of the screen (Side vol + and - work fine) - It worked the first day with no problems - I've updated the firmware to no avail and even downgraded it, but alas has not fixed it! - Anyone else had this problem? - Cheers, Rick from Oz

umm to see volume by screen you have to move ur thumb vertically (up for louder and down for quieter). hope that answered your question. =/

Hi Solleks
That's my point! - I move my thumb vertically (up for louder and down for quieter) and I don't see the volume bar and when I do, it disappears after a brief moment.

Side controls work fine.

Sounds to me like it is working for you. It is suppose to appear for a brief moment and for each finger or thumb movment, it is only suppose to make a small change in volume. I know that for me it's one of the tricky things to do on this thing.
You know, now that I think about it, this makes me wonder. I know that Dragon NaturallySpeaking and other similar programs have to be taught to learn your voice. I wonder if the Samsung P2 firmware has to be taught to learn your finger movement.

I find it's easier to use the on-screen volume controls when I'm in
full screen mode, listening to music. One quick stroke up, makes the volume
go up, and one down, makes it go down.
It's only supposed appear briefly, and not just stay there.

It would be good if it showed at all!....I'll phone Samsung in the morning and see what they have to say.

As I said in my original message, it did work fine!....The only thing that I can think that I did was upgrade the firmware, although restoring it back to original hasn't changed anything!

Thanks for the input anyway!

So, it changes the volume, but doesn't indicate that it's doing so?

Have you tried resetting the device using the reset button pinhole on the back?

Yes I tried that but no change!...I changed the unit over today but haven't had a chance to try it as yet!.....I have a feeling that having hands like dinner plates maybe my problem and that I need to learn to accept that nothing in life is perfect.

Thanx for the input guys, but I think we'll lay this post to rest. RIP

I know that depending how moist my hands are I get different result touching the screen. Your dinner plate hands may indeed be the problem.

Lol!!....This replacement works perfectly, though I must say the art of stroking the display could be the reason for the cure!!

What more could a man want?....A P2 that likes to be stroked, an SBH 100 bluetooth headset, Michel Petrucciani playing piano and of course, a nice cold stubby!!!

I'll add the latest firmware once it passes beta stage with the addition of a calculator and voice recorder.....Thanks again guys.
