Help upgrading V30 hard drive

I am hoping to get help with problems I'm having replacing the hard drive. I swapped the hard drive with an 80GB version. I was hoping I would be able to format the drive, however the gigabeat only shows the following message now: "Update or restore Portable Media Center using PC application. Read User Manual." I assume the problem is that the drive has not been formatted. The giga shows up in My Computer, but I can't sync anything to it and it only shows 1 GB capacity. I have Partition Magic, but the giga doesn't show up. How can I format the drive? Will this solve the error message above? Is it possible to install Portable Media Center separately? If so, where would I find the program? Thanks for any help you can provide.
