anything new on the horizon?

I was wondering if anyone's heard any news regarding a new sansa player(s). I love the micro sd card slot (that integrates...get it Creative?) but the Fuze is too small and I've read some not too glowing (to put it nicely) reviews about the View. Will there be a 16 gb Fuze or a new player coming up soon? The holidays are approaching...

I hear where the op is coming from; I find it hard to believe that no company has released a 32gb or 64gb player with expansion slot. I really believe there’s a good market for this size in a flash player and who better poised than SanDisk to make one. BTW yes I’ve seen the sony NW-A847 …

the clip+ is nice for what it is but doesn't really suit my needs.

i'd like something at least 16 gb and the view seems to fit the bill (decent price at amazon). again it's after looking at these forums and other places i see lots of complaints. should i just roll the dice w/ a 16 gb view? i never had any problems with my e260 but recall lots posts regarding issues w/ it.

Typically, people only post when there are issues with their players. I don't have one, but I am sure the View is a suitable player for most people..

The Clip+ can be 24GB, and soon 40GB. But I assume you want even more internal storage?

By the way, the View is based on the old PortalPlayer platform (which doesn't sound very good), it's not an AMS player like the Fuze and Clip.

Keep in mind, the View is now unsupported....it's been well over a year since any firmware updates were offered. I would recommend taking a look through here before pulling the trigger. There are a lot of unhappy owners there. The only thing it does better than the Fuze is video, and offer more internal memory. Sound and feature-wise, the Fuze blows it away otherwise. Best of luck with whatever you decide.

musichound - i keep telling myself that but i see so many negative comments that it makes me wonder

marvin - i've checked out the sandisk forum and i see what you're talking about

the view seems to fit all my needs (mainly bigger screen and more internal memory) but people's comments make me worried. hope amazon has a good return policy or sandisk puts something out within the next couple of weeks. thanks for all the feedback guys!

Gotta agree. I wonder if they will ever update the Fuze or View. I'd love to have something which is a mixture of the Fuze and View...except it must sound like the Fuze.
