from the original page:
flashpoint "That sentence sums it all up. Anyone who is into music production will more likely prefer to transfer their tracks digitally over the internet - or, if physical media is needed - a 700 MB CDR/RW. There is no way a micro SD card could be cheaper than a Rewriteable CD-R and to add to that - its size makes it easy to misplace. The same goes for people who are downloading tracks from the internet. Its easier to download to their zune/ipod without carrying around these chips." -I'd have to agree

Can't plug in a CD RW into a portable device, but you can plug in memory cards into some MP3 players, and it's VERY convenient. "The same goes for people who are downloading tracks from the internet. I'm not sure you CAN download to the SD card, they don't have the music restrictions, but you CAN get MP3s from your own CDs and copy them to an SD card and just plug in. I have a few 2-GB cards, paid about $10 each for them (Buy.com) and they work great. If you lose the cards, don't use them. But they are great if you don't tend to lose them. Jeff |
