Default 404 drive replacement

I have a chance to pick up a 404 relatively cheap, but it's just a 30GB model. I remember some of the older Archos players used a standard 3.5" hard drive, is this case with the newer ones? 30GB is considerably smaller than the size of my MP3 collection, and it seems I never have the music I want to listen to with me when I only have part of the collection with me. The idea would be to pick this unit up, and replace the drive with one of the bigger laptop drives that I have, but if it's the smaller 1.8" drive, no point in blowing the warranty. I've been trying to search this forum, but not finding that info, and Google is failing me on this one as well.
