SE usually give a really good warranty, so get her to try bringing it back to where she bought it and seeing if they'll still honour the warranty on it, or send it back for her!

Its a shame it isn't working right for her, I <3 my own, despite the odd hiccup here and there

Ehem I still have a Nokia 3410 I think about getting a Sony Erricson or a Samsung, sooner or later... But well... The Nokia does it's job perfectly. It already survived several hard crashes with the floor and a little dive in tomato sauce

I have a samsung C300, much reccomended. When I want something, I want it properly so I don't like "all-in" cellphones. I have 2 cameras, 4 mp3players and a cellphone and I make it carrying them all three around just fine. The samsung is very durable by the way. I dropped it a 100 times (literally) and it's been on a farm land for 2 weeks in rain and snow (fell out of my pocket) and it still works.

Samsung A640, don't have any pictures of it because it's not a remarkable phone in any sense of style or function. It just works, it was cheap, and it has taken a beating up to this point. :P

I have the w880i... it was darned expensive when I bought it a year ago, but I love the slim size and it's good looks.
It came with a 1GB card and some decent headphones too, so it's quite good to listen to music on, too! I was surprised that the sound quality was better than my old Zen V+, and after using the headphones, I could never go back to regular crappy earbuds again :P
