New Firmware 2.40

which version of Samsung Media Studio works with the US version of the Z5?

Hello,

I can't upgrade my Z5 to 2.40 US.
I copy the file in the system folder. Disconnect the USB Cable. Select Upgrade.
Then I switch on the Z5 and I see the Upgrade Prosses. After some times I see "Upgrade Failed".
I press the Power Key and the device is comming up with Firmeware 2.38 US.

Have anyone a idea?

Hey Guys,

i get my brand new Z5 today.

I´m from Germany and bought it from a online shop in France, so there was a big shock for me when i saw that the menu of the z5 was in france language

Now i have successfully set it to german after a 1 hour fight

So, i got 2 problems with the Player.

First, when i connect it to my Computer, in the Battery Icon is a Flash Symbol. I think this should not be

Second, i have the Firmware 2.37 FR (i think it means france ) and now i want to update to 2.40 but i didn´t found a specific firmware on the samsung HP. On the Back there ist the model name: YP - Z5F AB/XEF. I didn´t found this model on the HP...so what firmware will work on this player?

it is the 4GB version in black.

No problem - this symbol means the Z5 is charging

Unless something has changed, the firmware updaters are capable of updating any Z5 or Z5F.

So what Firmware should i take? YP-Z5F AB or YP - Z5F AB/ELS?

I finish updating my z5 with version 2,40, I did it step by step, when I finish disconnects it of my computer, and single the logo of Samsung is seen. I need aid I take waiting for 2 hours to that one falls in love and single teaches the logo to me of samsung. Please I need aid. Thanks

As far as I know, either version should work for all Z5s.

What version 2.40 has that 2.37 doesn't is:
- Support ALBUM ART while playing WMA file
- 24Hr displaying Function

ZZ you don't sound really sure of yourself regarding the matter of a successful download when people can't find their model numbers.

I mean no disrespect but if you say that it will work for any Z5 for sure then I will believe you and download it tomorrow.

I realise that several people have written in saying that their doanload was a success even though they couldn't find the number. I can't afford to fry another Z5 !!

Hi Again ZZ: After re-reading my last post that made a reference to you, I thought it sounded kinda not really the way I intended. Sorry about that!

Anyway as I was fooling around I dragged the file over to the Root and right b4 my very eyes it started to do it's thing. About 3 min. later it said it was finished or words to that effect. When I checked it, sure enough it said Version 2.43!

I sure was surprised and just a tad happy with myself.
I can't say I noticed a snap sound between songs, but I was in a hurry and only listened once. Nor have I checked for flaws when viewing titles. Posters B4 me have refered to it as "freezing', I think.

Now.................if they can just get that problem of power consumption fixed we all would be happy campers!
