Page Zen Vision W Dock

Has anyone made or thought of making a Zen Vision W dock? Are there any unofficial ones lurking around on the net?

I'd love to see my device in its own little dock sitting on my desk.

Please, If you've made one, post pictures and / or instructions

Thanks

My Zen Vision:W finally arrived...today I'd be interested in seeing something like this as well.

Some suggested to me buying a Zen Vision M dock and sawing off the sides to make it fit. I was planning on ordering one from Creative this week. They're only 9.95 on their website now so if it doesn't work i'm not out much,

I used to have a Vision until it needed to be replaced. They sent me a W since Creative stopped making the regular Vision. I bought a dock for the original and since it's not wide enough for the W I thought I'd try modding it to fit the W.

I took it all apart yesterday and tested the docking connector plugged into the W and it worked fine. Now I'm trying to come up with a way to make the W fit into the case. Any ideas?

Cool Let's make you ZVW-people happy!

I ordered this dock for my ZVM a while ago and it works perfectly.
Furthermore it has separete Audio- and Audio-Video out jacks!
Hope you'll like it..

It's really not that expensive, considering what you get... right? Here's how it looks:

Take care...

Nice. It looks like you are getting some dust already. You may want to find something to cover the dock connector when not in use. This place has a ton of covers. Maybe a DB25 cover would work. They come in a 10-pack, but for only $6.75....

Nice dock. i wish I had seen that before I ordered the ZVM one from creative. With a hacksaw and a lot of work you can make it fit a ZVW btw.

Thanks flautash, I reckon that will be just the job (and I found one in stock in the US so a little importing and I should be good).

Xeticus, I know it's been a long while but did you ever finish your project?
A little look would be nice.

Just out of interest, would someone tell me what is the cable coming out of the a/v socket on that dock, please?

It looks like it might be a 4 pole 3.5 jack to a 3 line component cable?

I can see the separate audio out so it's puzzling me.
If there were 4 pole jacks being used I would have expected a single line composite cable - or if it had the connection an svideo socket - and a stereo L & R to be usual & the limit of what's usable here, no?

I built one from an old Zen Vision dock. I had to use the dremel tool to cut out some of the plastic and it isn't pretty but it works nicely. I can watch movies without holding the player and at the same time it can charge or connect to the PC.
I sold my Vision W and I still have the dock.

You can get a very nice dock from this vendor:
http://www.pc-mobile.net/zvm.htm (as listed earlier in this thread). I own two, one hardwired to a 23" LCD tv and PC 2.1 speakers, to support my Vision W and Vision M units. The Vision W looks funny perched on the little base, and I am designing a basic cradle to provide stability. But the dock works great.
Have a great Thanksgiving!
