If I am reading right, you need to uninstall the bootloader or reinstall the OF.

Could you please use better titles next time?

The Sansapatcher.exe should have an uninstall or the easiest way is just reinstalling the Sansa firmware.

Wait do I have to install the regular rockbox from rockbox.org AND cpchan's current build for it to work.

All I did was upzip Cpchan's file and dragged it to my sansa folder.

yes, i just uninstalled rockbox from the sansapatch.exe and after that it went to the normal sansa e250 without rockbox. So i just deleted the official rockbox and cpchan's folder in my sansa e250 root directory.

Now if I want to reinstall cpchan's rockbox, what do i do?

Now, you can reinstall the Rockbox bootloader, then put cpchan's .rockbox folder on to the root of the Sansa.

Default definition of bootloader

A bootloader or bootstrap loader is a tool to help load an operating system onto a machine. The need for a bootloader comes from the fact that operating systems must be loaded into memory before they are run.

Gonna add a bit to this, it also tells the device where the files are in the first place.

Changster you need to spend some time reading about rockbox....

Watch this video on how to install rockbox.....
http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum...ad.php?t=25662

and Read the manual for Sansas over at rockbox.org http://www.rockbox.org/manual.shtml
It tells you how to install and how to uninstall, and how to use and playback music and modify settings.

IMO, Installing rockbox isn't something to jump into without hearing of the term bootloader or sansapatcher...

Okay I understand all of that. The only thing I don't quite understand is.

If you want to download cpchan's rockbox or a complied one, do you still need sansapatch.exe and the rockbox from rockbox.org?

How did you guys download complied rockboxs?

You need to run sansapatcher.exe the first time, but after that you just need to unzip the custom build. You do not need the rockbox build from rockbox.org if you plan to use a custom build.
