Unhappy Volume Button

The side panel on the right side where you adjust the volume is kinda broken/stuck. I can move the volume softer with no problems but when I try to make it louder I think the little click sound isn't coming and I can't really press down into it. The volume is on 0 now so everything is muted...

Any suggestions?

This exact same thing just happened to me, and I don't know what to do. I also don't have any of the warranty papers. The up volume button still clicks, its just harder to click, and the volume does not go up. Is this a software problem, or a hardware problem?

You likely don't need any papers--I believe the Clip has been out well under a year, the warranty period. Contact SanDisk.

Yea just call them. I've dealt with them on more than one occasion and there return policy is pretty simple. There customer service is not that bad at all and helpful. Good luck.

To get around this for now isn't there a volume setting you can make via the interface?

EDIT: No, the volume setting only controls for high and low volume, and not a volume level.

Well, sandisk will not warrant my clip because I bought it from ebay. This is BS. What should I do? Just buy another? I found a good deal on ebay, so should I get that?

I wouldn't instantly buy another but if you have money to spare why not. I would try to contact the person that sold it to you and ask for warranty papers and if that doesn't work, screw it open and see if there isn't sand/glue/dirt/whatever stuck somehwere in the button. Remember screwng it open voids the warranty.

SanDisk should warranty it, as it's still within the warranty period--does the warranty have an eBay exception?!?

I'd try calling and dealing with a different customer service rep.

Thats ridiculous that they wont fix it cause you got it from ebay, but why do they know you got it from ebay in the first place? Just call them again and tell them you bought it from best buy over 30 days ago, so now its up to the manufacture to warranty their product.
