the messages you get, " please image ! update " and "please update 'STR' file and also 'AUI' file.. " are the common messages that appear when bricked.

So, if they still appear after Writing the ROM file to the P2 using FWDN, then the program isnt working right... after the "writing complete!" appears on the FWDN screen it should change the way it shows those messages.

Are you seeing that message on FWDN? the "Writing Complete!"?

If you are, the next thing that comes to mind, what version is your P2? there is a little chance that 16GB version or P2 with DMB support need a different SDRAM size, or maybe they cannot be debricked at all with this software.

im sorry but i cannot test or find out what you need to change to get it to work, you have to test it, at least it is already bricked so, give it a try.

if you find out, pelase post it to update the guide.

does it continue to loop the update process or it stay in that update STR file screen? if it stay just plug it to your PC without turning it off, and it will recognize it as a mtp player...

if it is looping, then the fwdn isnt writing to the P2, try another USB port or another PC.

try using other rom file, the program shows the normal, but your P2 doesnt "receive" the info.

if using other rom doesnt work, then i strongly suggest you try another USB port or another pc

laterz

Hi there...
Coming with another Problem*

Everything's fine till the Step where Windows should find the driver or I show him which one to use.

First of all:
- Yes, I've tried to show him the vtcdrv.inf file (Error: This file does not contain the required information)
- Yes, I've tried to autodetect windows the drivers (install2000Xp.bat)
- I've also rebootet and tried it out on another computer...same problem.*
- Using Windows XP Prof. with SP2.

Looking forward for someone that could help me...

Thanks*

Try going to control panel/performance and maintenance/see basic info about your computer (system properties). Then you choose tab "hardware" and then press "device manager". If your P2 is connected, it should show that yellow warning triangle for that particular usb port. Then you select that port and manually install driver from the p2-fixer manual given location.
That worked for me. Good luck.

And of course, big thanks to the Author.

my p2 bricked while trying to change the region to KR for that goddammmnn dictionary!
i did the whole instructions step by step ! but my p2 bricked and then i strated unbricking my device.
everething was OK untill i got into the last step. i mean, when i connected my p2 to PC in order to enter the P2 Drive but p2 was not installed, as a matter of fact, it was not recognized by windows.
by the way, my p2 shows "update resource file" or someting. therefore there's nothing wrong with my instalation.
please click the link below to see my Device Manager and my p2 driver which has got a yellow circle on it as a sign of not being installed
http://www.gigaimage.com/images/z7te...6r4708t9mj.jpg

i tried to load all the files in the FWDN folder to get rid of that fucking yellow circle. but none of them worked . what's wrong? should i use another computer? or... i should use some special driver to have my p2 installed?

i'll be in your debt for ever if you solve my problem!

i'll be waiting...

One of the first instructions is to HOLD THE POWER BUTTON AND RESET BUTTON at the same time when you plug it in. It will recognize it as a Telechips device. Install the appropriate drivers and go from there . But I may just be misunderstanding your problem :S
