If you see the above message while your are browsing through the track list and choose the "Delete" option from the "Settings" menu, I have the same "problem". However, I do not consider this is a "real" malfunction of the player worth worrying. Although it is true that is gives you an extra work to e.g. make a note in the notepad (which is what I always do when I discover an "error" in my files) saying "Delete this and that song".

I have just seen that the following thread here in the forum apparently deals with the same feature: http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum...ad.php?t=25856 which is called "on the fly" deletion of files there. However, no solution has yet been given ....

You can delete it if you're in folder browsing instead of ID3-browsing

Click on the "mode" option when browsing music then choose "Music List" then swipe left with your finger until it has a list that says artist, Album, year, genre, etc, and go to the bottom, there you will find "folders" open that, then go to the D2 or d2 ext depending on if the file you want to delete is on the Sd card or not, then to music, then browse your folders to the file in question and delete it from there

I tried the above but it didn't work for me unless I was doing something wrong. However this did (thanks Whew of iAudiophile):

"First play any file in Folder view, making it the "active view". At this point, you can now navigate through Folder view and delete files from within the D2 UI."

Hope this helps
