Don't forget I said "like the P2".

I remember paying $700 for a 70mb hard drive and thinking it was a great deal. My wife just bought a 250gb 2.5" external USB powered drive for $99. Capacities go up. Prices come down. I have absolutely no doubt in my mind that eventually we'll see a 256gb non-mechanical storage drive at $100ish, although it may be 4 dimension holographic storage rather than solid state.

I read a review that (mistakenly) claimed the 16gb model also had a speaker. Is there any indication in the Korean information about a speaker for that model?

Lastly, does anyone in Korea want to mail me one? How about Canada? If Samsung Korea is reading this, ship me one and I'll write a review of it in my blog.

I've lived long enough to know that all I have to do is wait, and eventually electronics' prices fall. Capacities increase. Moore's law. So I'll just wait, I guess.

I hate to be a spoiler but the US may not get the 16GB YP-P2. Since US consumers didn't get the 8 GB YP-10 or the 8 GB YP-T9, it's not hard to believe the 16GB P2 isn't coming here. If it were coming, you'd think there would be some reference on the Samsung or a retailer website by now. If Best Buy USA were going to carry it, it would at least be in thier database since it's been in the Canadian database for weeks. S. Korea, Canada, Asia-Pacific, and maybe the EU will enjoy the higher capacity P2.

I would have to disagree with you, Samsungs website in Canada still only mentions the 4 and 8GB sizes. Also, no-one even new when the 16GB p2 was coming out till someone stumbled upon it on Best Buys website. Besides, I think the 16GB p2 was released on Best Buys website as of March 24-26th, thats only 10-12 days.

I think we just have to be patient and give Samsung till the end of April at least. I am not saying that it IS coming out in U.S., I am just saying that it's too soon to tell.

It might also have something to do with Amazon (J&R) just listing the 16GB ipod touch for only $339, serious competition http://www.amazon.com/Apple-touch-wi...7787065&sr=8-2

Although that is a Touch that will still cost you another $20 to get email, stocks, etc., it does point out that the 16gb P2 will need to come in below $300. I'm hoping for an Amazon first come first serve $249ish price when the 16gb P2 is first available.

The lowest price of 16GB P2 in Korea now is around $310. It was only few weeks ago that was listed around $360. I think it will go down even more.

the 16 gig ipod touch can be gotten for 289$ brand new here in ottawa (not online though). i'm honestly considering just selling off my 4 gig p2 and getting the 16 gig touch instead.

At that price, I don't think anyone will blame you. Personally I thought about the touch but I CANT stand Itunes or Coverflow. Just goes to show though that Samsung better hurry up and come in at a reasonable price - somewhere in the range of $250-300 any higher and I think they will be way out of range.

It doesn't matter if it doesn't appear on Samsung Canada's website if it appears on Canadian retailer's shelves and website. The fact remains that it exists somewhere. The 16GB P2 does not sit on US shelves, retailer databases, retail websites, or Samsung's website. Samsung USA does not acknowledge it as a model in the line-up. Frankly, it must exist somewhere in the procurement and inventory chain before it appears in the physical. Point blank, it isn't there!

Disagree if you wish but I'm not sure it really matters.

It looks like the US may be getting a 16GB P2 this summer. This story is about an April 25th electronics show.

God, I feel sorry for you guys in the US! I live in the UK and got my 16GB a couple of weeks back....

I know Samsung probably use home territories to decide whether or not to release items internationally, but why not have a worldwide release date?

I'm hoping for a 32GB version. Samsung may think it will steal sales from their hard drive models, or be too expensive for the US market.
