Default MTP: How to disconnect

After trading in my Sansa c250 after only three weeks I have a Sony s615 which after much tinkering I have finally gotten my desktop to recognize in the MTP mode. My laptop sees it in USB which gives an icon to stop the device before disconnecting.

MTP has no such icon and no USB option to disconnect. Do I just pull the plug when the message on the screen no longer says not to disconnect?

That message won't go away. When all of your files have been transfered then you can disconnect your walkman safely. If there isnt any files transfering when you disconnect it from the USB then it should be fine.

Yes I have noticed this with my A816. When I plug it in I sync with WMP. After I am done adding files I just unplug it. I never have an icon in the task bar like a regular Jump drive.
