Default ...the wait begins

Well after hours of reading forums and reviews I have ordered the D2. The only thing I was leary about was the lack of playlist support. But I have read posts of those who have made work-arounds to get playlists on their D2. So I bit the bullet. Can't wait to get it!

Lack of playlist support? I thought the D2 supports playlists like any other player in MTP mode. (I don't use that stuff, but I read about it.)

I wouldn't be able to wait to get a D2 if I was getting one.

What are IEM's? Are you talking about earphones? If so yes I am going to start to look into what ones I can get that will substantially improve my listening experience without killing my wallet! $100. or less if possible?

You can take a look at the headphones sub-forum. Below the $100 mark, I can recommend the Audio Technica ATH-CK7. You can buy them for $69 + S&H from Audiocubes, and they sound great with the D2: sound is clean, detailed and the bass sounds very good with the Mach3Bass setting of this player.

I really cant wait. Have been online ordering accessories. On order: InvisibleShield (shieldzone) screen protector, Audio Technica ATH-CK7 earphones, and an A-Data 8gb SDHC card (I've actually ordered 2 of everything including D2 as one set is Bday present for teenage son). I know the D2 has shipped!

The 8 GB A-data SDHC cards work just fine with the D2 -- nice choice. By the way, great gift for your son.

Let us know how do you like the player and IEMs when everything arrives. And give the CK7s around 40 hours of burn-in before listening to them (not that they sound bad out of the box). Their sound will improve throughout the first 100 hours of listening: bass will get tighter, and highs will settle down a bit.

Indeed. He may be put off by the brand at first, too, but if he tries it, he'll like it. Then he can show it off to all his friends and gloat about how it's better than their iStuff.
