Hi all.. I need to make a decision on which Sansa player to buy.
I've ordered an e280, but it still has not arrived (supplier has run out and they don't know when the item will be back in stock) so I started getting info on the View. What I like in the e200's series is: - smaller size - more scratch resistant - replaceable battery - Rockbox option (at least with v1) What I don't like: - smaller screen - only 15fps for videos - smaller capacity What I like in the View: - bigger display - the TV Out option - double capacity (16Gb flash! WOW!), - 30fps for videos - better controls - cost (just a little more than the e280) What I don't like: - bigger size - fingerprint/scratch magnet - non-replaceable battery And on the plus side, since a friend of mine is coming to the US, I could buy the 16Gb View on Amazon, have it delivered to his hotel and pay it just as much as an e280 costs here in Italy... I can't decide... please help!

What are you going to use it mainly for?

Well, main use would be music listening, of course. I'm lazy and don't like to transfer music too often, so high capacity is a plus.
Video is just a plus, but if it's good quality, I would probably use it more than intended (for example for bringing videos with me when I go on holidays, or to watch my favorite tv shows when on airplanes). I already have an iAudio M3 20Gb, but my intentions would be to switch to solid-state (flash) memory, which should be less delicate than hard drive based players like the M3. |

Sounds like if you get e280v1 with Rockbox, or e280v2 is the best idea since you could get a mircoSDHC card for them. If you really want video, the View might be the better idea then.

Yeah, but an e280+8Gb MicroSD Card cost more than a View 16Gb (which could be later expanded to 24Gb or more with the MicroSD card...)
Higher capacity and video capability make me lean towards the View. Smaller size and scratch-resistance make me lean towards the e280. Tough call. Really.

I went for the View, and for my needs it's just fine.
I can't really find any big fault with it, and most of the bad reviews are related to battery life, which I find pretty good though. But I don't have any microSD cards, which seem to be related to high battery consumption of the View.
