MTP won't install

Finally I bought a clip for 34 dollars but the spiralfrog music, that I was hoping to fill the clip with, would not work because the device could not be recognized in MTP mode. It just tells me to install drivers and they always fail to install! Anybody know how to solve this? I have windows Xp and and the latest Windows Media player.

By the way is there some sort of sandisk program out there that would allow me to sync music to my clip?

lemme add that i cannot afford money for music downloads so please stop criticizing my need for mtp thank you.

Do you have all the updates plus WMP11?

i dont see good enuf reason to care about any sync.. mtp aint worth it..connect in msc and your life will matter

yes i have all the updates. The primary reason for me wanting mtp is because I want subscription music support. thankyou

if youve done all the msc mode, device manager, uninstall/reinstall, etc.. youre beat..you should do all the hoops first.. connect in msc first.. reformat from xp,update, format from clip.. if after all that it connects in msc, and wont in mtp, xp wmp aint up to date..there is still not good enuf reason to use mtp.. you are handcuffed by drm and should convert it.. tunebite etc..you s/b more precise in descrioption of what youve done step by step ..

Try connecting it to another PC (or PCs) running WMP11, and see if it's recognized. If it is, you've got a problem with your WMP11 installation. If not, connect it to your PC in MSC mode, format it using Windows Explorer, and install the latest firmware with one of the following methods:

1) Use the Sansa Firmware Updater:

2) If that doesn't work, copy the firmware manually to the player:
