Official Rockbox in the SVN repository is updated several times daily. Latest updates are under the SVN section on the homepage of http://www.rockbox.org/ .

Rockbox releases official daily builds based off of SVN.

There are unofficial custom builds released on this site whenever the authors feel like it. Chrisjs uses an autoupdate script to update his build whenever SVN changes. Most custom builds update whenever there are important changes in SVN, or once every 1-2 weeks.

Anything that ever changes is part of a daily change. If you're upgrading from 2 months ago, 2 things you will notice are album art has been committed (though you may have had a patch) and pictureflow is a new plugin under demos.

Normally, they are just small changes, but sometimes they have more significant changes. Personally I upgrade once every couple weeks.

Since 2 months ago there have also been various performance improvements, bug fixes. And "Resume" and "Set start time" in mpegplayer are much, much, much faster.

Unfortunately, while charging was made possible, the current code just powers the device from USB without charging the battery. You need to add FS#8363 to get charging.

I hope they improve the battery life in rockbox, also make the battery indicator more accurate. Mine craps out when it says around 20%

To be honest, I'm not even sure how well this works... at least with a Griffin USB wall charger built specifically for the e200. If it charges from that thing under Rockbox, it's *real* slow. Yes, I do have the patch in my build.

Yeah the patch isn't finished (see the comments on the tracker). I suspect it charges to maybe 70% or so and then switches off. I really don't recommend using it. Theres a risk of damaging your battery and player since no one has had a chance to verify that all the safety stuff is in place.

Thanks, Saratoga. I'll remove it next time I rebuild.
